And Llama 3.1 Sonar (from Perplexity.ai) ideas for Screenshot tools for entrepreneurs:

– Virtual Product Demos: Teams can use screen recording tools to create high-quality, on-demand product demos that potential customers can access at their convenience. This helps entrepreneurs showcase their products in a more engaging and interactive way, reducing the need for in-person meetings.

– Async Training Sessions: Screen recording tools can be leveraged to create asynchronous training sessions for new employees or clients. These recordings can include step-by-step tutorials, product overviews, and best practices, allowing team members to learn at their own pace.

– Customer Testimonials: By recording customer interactions with the product, teams can create authentic testimonials that highlight the benefits and features of their software. These recordings can be used in marketing materials, social media campaigns, or even on the company website.

– Internal Onboarding: For new hires, screen recordings can serve as an effective way to onboard employees quickly. Recordings can cover everything from setting up the software to understanding company policies and procedures.

– Live Event Replays: After live events like webinars or conferences, teams can use screen recording tools to create replay versions of these sessions. This allows attendees who missed the live event to catch up later while also providing valuable content for future marketing efforts.

For my personal experience working by myself and with a team, my recommendations for screen recording tools are:

Focusee – Local, Fast, One Time Pricing

I love this one since it’s all local (no web UI), they have Mac and Windows versions, and the zooming is pretty solid. I’ve used this to record 50+ videos now, and it took my editing time to near-zero.

Yes, this is ranked above Screen Studio for me. If you’re a team with Mixed devices (Windows + Macs), or work with freelancers, it’s challenging to have the Screenstudio limitation of 1 operating system. Focusee avoids that problem. (But, the file formats seem to differ when saved on Windows vs. Mac.)

Check it out here.

My fav 3 things:

  1. I can change how my cursor looks after recording
  2. I can make simple cuts/timeline editing is not bloated
  3. Backgrounds can be swapped.

Tella.tv – Online Cinematic Screen Recording

1 word – ANIMATED BACKGROUNDS. (ok, that was 2 words.) This really takes any screen recording to the next level imho.

Right out of the box, you can make the most eye catching screen recording online. Everything can be handled with their Web UI (no app downloads needed). You can download their Mac app if needed.

It’s just simple – Press record, swap out background, and change layouts as needed. Imo, best SaaS option for screen capture.

Check out their free trial here.

My favourite 3 features:

  1. Team editing (fast) – No uploads/downloads needed to edit
  2. Animated backgrounds/screen borders
  3. Layout transitions are gorgeous out of the box.

Screen Studio – The Classic Screen Recorder

I’ve followed Screenstudio for a long time, and many many creators I follow use it. They have a sleek website and the product UI is pretty solid, but compared to Tella, I’m not sure it wins for team usage. (Need to upload/store the .screenstudio files somewhere.)

If your whole team is on Mac, and you have a solid filesharing/media library, it’s a great choice.

The upside? Tella costs monthly, ScreenStudio costs one time. (with 1 year of updates.)

My fav 3 features:

  1. It looks great
  2. The creator is active on X/posts updates
  3. The roadmap has some exciting features.
